STILL PICKING

We had lots of folks up this past weekend and lots of Honeycrisps and other varieties were picked.  This week we will continue to have Honeycrisp, Gala, Cortland, MacIntosh, Macoun and Fuji.

There be Honeycrisps this weekend, but fewer than last weekend.  There are also beginning to be some Mac and Honeycrisp drops.

At this point we expect to have enough apples to be open this coming weekend (Sept 24 & Sept 25), thru the weekend of Oct 1 & Oct 2 and wind down by mid week – probably Oct 5.

The late varieties – Empire, Jonagold,  and Crimson Crisp will start on Oct 1 – possibly a day or two earlier.

Come get your apples while we still have fruit.  Weather forecast is for cool weather.

HONEYCRISP, CORTLAND, MACOUN AND FUJI READY FOR PICKING

The mid season apples are ripe, so we have opened up picking today for Honeycrisp, Cortland, Macoun and Fuji.  There still are good Galas – Macs are more of a treasure hunt.

The Honeycrisp crop is bigger than we originally thought.  They may (or may not) last a couple of weeks depending on how many folks come this weekend.  Honeycrisp do ripen in stages, so pick the red ones and leave the green ones to ripen a bit more for next week.

There is cider all week – Mrs. Murphy’s   donuts will be here on the weekend.  The wooden IPod apple will go out tonight – finder wins an IPod.

Weather looks good Friday and Saturday – not so good Sunday (but there will be donuts).  Come help us get the apples picked.

Some nice Honeycrisp

GOOD MACS AND GALAS

There are good Macs and Galas for tomorrow Sunday Sept 11 and they will be good thru the rest of the week except Monday when we are closed.

There will be more of Mrs. Murphy’s donuts on Sunday, and cider all week.

Honeycrisp will start on Saturday Sept 17.

Come see us.

MACS AND GALAS START FRIDAY SEPT 9

We had a big turn out for early apple weekend – Zestars,  Sansas and Ginger Golds were picked out.

We will start our regular season Friday Sept 9 with McIntosh and Gala – Macs are limited.  There will be cider starting Friday and Mrs. Murphy’s donuts on Saturday and Sunday.

This season, we will try to hold our regular six days open (closed Monday’s) schedule if the supply of fruit from the short crop holds up.  We may have to go to weekends only.  Be sure to check the web or Facebook before you come to see that we are open on that day.

EARLY APPLE SUNDAY – SEPT 4 – 9:00AM – 2:00PM

Hours tomorrow (Sunday Sept 4) will be 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  We saw a lot of good folks today and they picked a lot of good fruit.  There are limited amounts of Zestar and Sansa – more Ginger Gold.

We will close at 2:00 PM because by that time the Zestars and Sansas will be picked out – I expect that there will be some Ginger Golds available when we reopen on Friday Sept 9.

We will start our regular season on Friday Sept 9 with Macintosh and Gala.  Because of the hard freeze in April, Macs will be relatively few – better supply of Gala.

We will have cider and donuts on Saturday and Sunday – weather forecast is for sunny and mid 70’s for the weekend – looking forward to seeing you.
