RASPBERRY PICKING IS DONE – APPLES ARE GROWING WELL

Our raspberry picking season is over.  A lot of good folks picked most of the berries – the turkeys and the chipmunks will enjoy the rest.

The four inches of rain this week battered some of the berries, but will help get much better size on the apples.  The pictures show Zestars which will start on early apple weekend   – probably Sept 1 & 2  and Honeycrisp which will start later in September.

Thanks for making the berry harvest a good one and put us on your calendar for the fall.

LAST TWO DAYS FOR RASPBERRY PICKING

Saturday July 28 and Sunday July 29 will be the last two days for raspberry picking.

You will find good berries as well as some that show the effects of all  the (much needed) rain.  I think the Nova’s are best, but you can find good fruit in the Boyne’s as well.  Royalty (purple) are also ripe.

The apple crop is growing well and the rain will help get better sized fruit after the very dry summer so far.

Last chance to stock the freezer.

FINAL WEEKEND FOR RASPBERRY PICKING

We will be open tomorrow Thursday July 26, closed Friday and back open on Saturday and Sunday.

There will be good berries upper and lower fields – some wear and tear from the rain, but we needed the rain.

Sunday will be our last day for raspberry picking.  Get those you need for your freezer.

RASPBERRY PICKING SCHEDULE FOR JULY 23 WEEK

We will be open tomorrow Tuesday July 24, closed Wednesday the 25’th and back open Thursday the 26’th.

There will be good picking especially on the Nova’s in the lower field.  The late ripening Royalty (purple) is ripening as well.

It looks like it will be a damp week, but we do need the rain – 2.1 inches today already.  This schedule will give time for more berries to ripen.

Time to stock the freezer to enjoy the berries in the winter!!

PEAK PICKING WEEKEND

Closed tomorrow Friday July 20 for more berries to ripen.  Then open Saturday July 21 and Sunday July 22.

There will be good berry picking in the three rows of Boyne berries in upper field.  Best picking (largest berries) will be in the lower field with seven rows of Nova berries.  You have to bend to reach berries in the four new rows, but they are the largest.

We will be closed Monday July 23.  Rain forecast for several days next week, so schedule  is not yet set.  This will probably be our last week.

Berries and the view will both be good.
